Convert HTML slides to editable PowerPoint

Design a slide as a web page, then export it as PowerPoint objects instead of a picture of the page.

How the conversion works

SlideClark loads each HTML slide in a hidden frame, lets it settle into its resting state with animations skipped, and reads every element: where it is, what it contains, how it is painted. The export then writes PowerPoint text boxes, shapes, pictures and backgrounds from those measurements.

Reading the slide at rest matters. Slides whose text fades or slides in on load would otherwise export half-empty, so the export waits for the final state and gives the same result every time.

What converts

  • Text, with font, size, weight, colour, alignment and line wrapping.
  • Boxes with fills, borders, rounded corners, gradients and shadows.
  • Pictures, including cropped and clipped ones, and slide backgrounds.
  • Text inside SVG, and speaker notes and links.

Write HTML that converts well

  • Lay the slide out for 1280 by 720 pixels.
  • Use real text for words. Text inside an image stays an image.
  • Let every element be visible without hovering or waiting, so the resting state is the finished slide.
  • Prefer plain boxes and fonts over effects such as blur and glow, which PowerPoint does not carry.
  • Use the audit before exporting: it flags text that overflows, clips or overlaps.

Edit by hand, no code needed

Click an element on an HTML slide and drag it, resize it with the handles, nudge it with the arrow keys, or change its font, colour, border and shadow in the Format tab. Double-click text to retype it. Copy, cut and paste elements between slides.

And the other way round

Open a .pptx file and each slide becomes an HTML slide you can restyle, hand to an AI or export again. Text, shapes, pictures, tables and simple charts are positioned as in the original, and the import tells you what it could not carry over.

Questions

Is the exported text really editable?

Yes. Text becomes PowerPoint text boxes. Charts and icons become pictures, and animations are not exported.

Will fonts match?

By default web fonts are replaced by the nearest font that ships with PowerPoint. You can keep the original fonts and install them first.

Can I convert any web page?

No. SlideClark converts slides written for it: HTML on a 1280 by 720 stage, kept inside the editor’s sandbox.
