SlideClark / guide
ChatGPT to PowerPoint, with an editor in between
ChatGPT is good at structure and wording. SlideClark gives it a format to write in, and gives you a place to fix what it gets wrong.
The route, step by step
Build the prompt
In the editor, click AI, then Build with AI, choose the chat window option and describe your deck.
Paste it into ChatGPT
Start a new chat and paste the prompt. It includes the full specification, so no extra setup is needed.
Take the file ChatGPT returns
ChatGPT replies with a downloadable .sldc file. Open it in SlideClark with Open, or drop it on the page.
Edit and export
Adjust the slides by clicking them, then present, save as PDF or export PowerPoint.
If ChatGPT does not attach a file
Some chats cannot create downloads. The prompt tells ChatGPT to reply with the deck as one JSON code block instead. Copy the block, click Open in SlideClark and paste it. Code fences around the JSON are stripped, and anything invalid is reported.
Getting a better first draft
- Give the audience, the length and the goal, and paste the facts and numbers you want used.
- Ask for custom slides when design matters, and template slides when the content matters more.
- Leave gaps honest: the prompt asks ChatGPT to mark unsupported claims as [NEEDS EVIDENCE].
- Rework one slide at a time with Copy slide prompt. It sends ChatGPT only that slide and the rules.
What ChatGPT cannot see
ChatGPT cannot see how a slide looks, and font widths vary a lot between themes. The guide in the prompt includes measured width tables so it can size headlines, and SlideClark flags text that overflows after the deck is open.
Using a ChatGPT agent in the browser
If your assistant can run JavaScript in the tab, such as an agent browser, choose the AI in your browser option. It receives a prompt that tells it to edit the open deck through the SlideClark API, and every change can be undone.
Questions
Does SlideClark use my ChatGPT account?
No. SlideClark never connects to ChatGPT. You move text between the two with copy and paste, or by opening a file.
Can ChatGPT export PowerPoint directly?
It can sometimes build a .pptx with code tools, but it cannot check the result visually. With SlideClark you inspect and edit the slides first, then export.
Is my deck sent to OpenAI?
Only what you paste into ChatGPT is sent to it, and that is governed by OpenAI’s terms. SlideClark itself uploads nothing.
