Edit a PowerPoint file online, free

Open a .pptx, change what you need, present it or save a PDF. It all happens in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.

How to open a PowerPoint file

  1. Open the editor

Go to the editor. There is nothing to install and no account to make.

  2. Drop in the .pptx

Drop the file on the page, or click Open. Choose Add to deck to keep what you have, or Replace to start from the file.

  3. Read the report

Each PowerPoint slide becomes one editable slide. A short report lists anything that could not be carried over, and one broken slide never stops the rest.

  4. Edit and present

Click text to retype it, drag shapes, change fonts and colours, then present full screen or save as PDF.

What comes across

  • Text, with its font, size, colour and alignment, still editable.
  • Shapes, lines and pictures, placed where they were.
  • Tables and simple charts.
  • Speaker notes and hidden slides.
  • Standard 4:3 and 16:9 slides. Other sizes are scaled and centred, with a note.

What it costs

Opening, editing, presenting and saving as PDF are free, with no limit on slides or decks. Saving your changes back out as an editable PowerPoint file is the one paid step, from £1.99 for a 24-hour pass. You can also keep the work as a .sldc file for nothing.

Privacy

The file is read inside your browser. It is not uploaded to a server, and nothing in it is run or linked. Decks stay in your browser until you save them.

Hand it to an AI

Once a PowerPoint deck is open as editable slides, you can copy a prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and ask it to tighten the wording or restyle the deck, then open what it returns.

Questions

Is it really free to edit a PowerPoint file?

Yes. Opening, editing, presenting and PDF are free. Only saving back to an editable .pptx file is paid.

Will my slides look exactly the same?

Close, but not always identical. Text, shapes, pictures, tables and simple charts are positioned as in the original, and the report tells you what changed. Check each slide before you present.

Do I need a Microsoft account?

No. SlideClark does not use one and needs no account of any kind to edit.

Try it with your own deck

Free to use. No account needed to edit, present or save. Decks stay in your browser.
